Licensed Pool Contractors

We Know Long Island Pools

JAS Aquatics has been building custom pools across Long Island for years, and we understand what works in Islip Terrace’s unique conditions. Sandy soil, local building codes, Suffolk County permits – we handle the details that trip up other contractors.

We’re licensed, insured, and focused on one thing: building pools that last. No shortcuts, no surprises, no drama. Just straightforward pool construction that gets done right the first time.

Here's How We Build It

First, we visit your property to discuss your vision and assess the space. We’ll talk about size, shape, features, and budget – no pressure, just honest conversation about what’s possible.

Next comes design and permits. We handle the paperwork with Suffolk County while finalizing your pool plans. Once everything’s approved, we schedule excavation around your timeline and weather conditions.

Construction moves fast once we start. Excavation, plumbing, electrical, steel installation, then concrete. We coordinate each phase so there’s no waiting around. Finally, we install your chosen finishes, fill the pool, and walk you through everything before we consider the job complete.

Inground Pool Installation

What You Actually Get

Every pool we build includes complete excavation, professional-grade plumbing and electrical systems, steel reinforcement, and gunite construction. We don’t cut corners on the structure because that’s what determines how long your pool lasts.

You also get proper permits pulled and inspections scheduled. Many homeowners don’t realize how complex Long Island pool regulations can be, but we handle all the compliance work so you don’t have to worry about it.

Pool decking, coping, and water features are available based on your preferences. We can integrate lighting, heating systems, and custom shapes that work with your existing landscape. The goal is a finished product that looks like it belongs in your backyard.

Most custom inground pools take 6-8 weeks from excavation to completion, but weather and permit timing affect the schedule. We excavate and install the structure first, which takes about 2 weeks. Then concrete curing, plumbing, electrical, and finishing work follow. We’ll give you a realistic timeline upfront and keep you updated if anything changes. Long Island weather can delay outdoor work, especially in spring and fall, so we build some flexibility into every schedule.
You need a building permit from the Town of Islip, plus electrical and plumbing permits for the pool systems. We handle all permit applications and scheduling inspections as part of our service. Suffolk County also requires setback compliance – your pool must be a certain distance from property lines and septic systems. We check all these requirements during our initial site visit so there are no surprises later. Most permits take 2-3 weeks to process.
Custom inground pools typically range from $50,000 to $100,000+ depending on size, features, and site conditions. Basic rectangular pools start lower, while custom shapes with water features, heating, and premium finishes cost more. Long Island’s soil conditions and local labor costs affect pricing compared to other regions. We provide detailed estimates after seeing your property and discussing your preferences. No hidden fees or surprise charges – you’ll know the total investment before we start.
We can excavate and install pool structures from April through November, weather permitting. Winter construction is possible but limited by ground conditions and concrete curing requirements. The best time to start is late spring or early summer when weather is predictable and you can enjoy the pool the same season. If you’re planning for next summer, fall and winter are great times to design and plan so we can start construction as soon as conditions allow.
We call 811 for utility marking before any excavation begins – it’s required by law and protects everyone involved. Utility companies mark gas, electric, water, and cable lines for free within a few days. If we encounter unmarked utilities during digging, we stop work immediately and contact the utility company. This rarely happens when proper marking is done, but safety comes first. Any utility repairs needed are typically covered by the utility company, not you.
We provide complete setup instructions and basic maintenance training when your pool is finished, including how to balance chemicals, clean filters, and winterize the system. While we focus on construction rather than ongoing maintenance, we can recommend trusted local pool service companies if you prefer professional maintenance. We also provide warranty support for any construction-related issues that arise after completion. Most homeowners find pool maintenance straightforward once they understand the basics.
