Tips to Help You Find a Dependable Pool Service in Manhasset Hills, NY

A backyard swimming pool is a wonderful addition to your Nassau County yard. It can provide much-needed and well-deserved relaxation, offers endless hours of entertainment, and can deliver welcoming relief during the height of summer’s heat. A swimming pool is also a sizable investment that can cost tens of thousands of dollars; of course, given all the benefits it provides, the expense is well worth it. With that said, however, to ensure that you will get the most out of this feature, you want to make sure that you hire the most reputable pool service; a contractor you can really entrust to bring your vision of an outdoor oasis to life.

Want to install a swimming pool? The following are some simple tips that will help you find the best Manhasset Hills, NY pool company to meet your specific needs.

Ask the People You Know

Do you know anyone who recently had a new pool installed in their Nassau County backyard or who had an existing pool refinished? Family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers, perhaps? If so, ask them which Manhasset Hills, NY pool company they used, and if they would recommend that you use them to design and install a poolscape for you.

Word-of-mouth recommendations from the people you know are often the best way to find reliable professionals to perform the work and/or services you need or want to have done, including swimming pool companies. Why? Because you can usually count on the people you know and trust to offer honest recommendations.

Search the Internet

Whether you don’t know anyone who can provide you with pool service recommendations or you do but you’d like to add a few more candidates to your list, search the internet for swimming pool contractors. Simply type “pool company in Manhasset Hills, NY” or similar queries into Google and you’re bound to get a long list of options to choose from. You can also check sites like the Better Business Bureau, Angie’s List, and Home Advisor for recommendations.

Take the time to visit the websites of a few of the pool service companies. Look at the services they offer, see if they have an online portfolio of poolscape projects they have completed, check to see if you can find information about credentials (how long they have been in business, if they’re licensed, etc.), and read through any testimonials or customer reviews you may find.

Get in Touch

Once you’ve compiled a list of at least three pool service candidates that have piqued your interests, get in touch with each one. A reputable Manhasset Hills, NY pool company will offer in-person consultations. They’ll come to your Nassau County home to discuss the swimming pool design you’re envisioning, to find out about your budget, to share information about their company, including the services they offer and their credentials, and to assess your yard.

Ask each pool service you meet with key questions that will help you make a final decision; for example:

  • Are you licensed and insured?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • What will be included in the contract?
  • Do you offer a written estimate?
  • Do you provide 3D renderings?
  • Do you offer a warranty/guarantee?
  • Do you have references I can contact?
  • What type of payments do you accept?
  • How does the payment process work?
  • How long will it take to complete the pool installation?
  • Do you handle the permits or will I have to take care of them?

Of course, you can and should include any other pertinent questions that will help you decide which Manhasset Hills, NY pool company to use.

Manhasset Hills is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 3,592 at the 2010 census. Neighboring communities include Herricks, North Hills, North New Hyde Park, and Lake Success.

By the late 1950s, much of the land in Manhasset Hills had been developed by developers. One of the last major developments to be built was the Cherrywood Homes development, which was built on a 24-acre tract by Barney and Martin Spiegel. The development was built with 88 split-level houses designed by A.H. Salkowitz, and was constructed on one of the last remaining major undeveloped tracts of land available in Manhasset Hills.

In the 1980s and 1990s, roughly 1,000 Manhasset Hills residents attempted to prevent the State of New York from placing a group home in their neighborhood for people with mental disabilities. Many were concerned that their property values would decrease because of the group home’s presence, and attempted to change a law in order to prevent the home from being established. The residents were successful in preventing the group home from being established in their community, and the home was instead established in nearby New Hyde Park.

The Long Island Motor Parkway used to run along the northern border of the hamlet.
