Why You Should Consider a Fiberglass Inground Pool for Your Holtsville, NY Backyard

From pool parties with family and friends to cooling off and unwinding after a long day of work, there’s nothing better than a backyard swimming pool. Not only will it provide endless hours of entertainment and relaxation, but a swimming pool can also increase the value of your Suffolk County property.

Now might be the perfect time to invest in your Holtsville, NY inground pool installation. Before you contact a company, decide what kind of pool is best for your needs. If you’re looking for the top benefits and reasons to wow your guests, then consider installing a fiberglass inground pool.

Quick Installation

Fiberglass inground pools are easier to install and less expensive than other types of pools. You’ll be swimming in your backyard in no time with a reputable provider who can have the job done in three to six weeks, on average.

Minimal Maintenance

With a fiberglass pool, you’ll spend less time cleaning and more time playing in your pool. Vinyl liner and gunite pools are two common types of residential pools with lots of maintenance (and frustrations).

Gentler on the Skin

If you’ve ever jumped into a gunite pool and noticed that your feet, knees, hands, and even your elbows are scuffed up when you get out? The rough concrete can do a real number on your skin and can seriously detract from the joy that a pool is supposed to bring. A fiberglass inground pool is much easier on your skin, as it’s completely smooth from top to bottom. If bloody toes and fingers don’t sound appealing, go for the cool new option.

Compatible with Salt Chlorine Generators

Salt chlorine generators have become extremely popular, as these devices are a low-maintenance way to maintain the cleanliness of a pool. The downside, however, is that these generators are hard on concrete and metal, so they aren’t ideal for steel vinyl liner and gunite pools. Fortunately, fiberglass inground pools and salt chlorine generators go hand-in-hand, further reducing the amount of time you’ll need to spend maintaining your Suffolk County swimming pool.

Low Cost

Vinyl liner replacement, acid washing, and resurfacing aren’t cheap. When you calculate the cost over the lifespan of your pool, it’s fairly expensive. With a fiberglass in-ground pool, you’ll avoid these costs altogether and have a much more affordable backyard swimming plan – which just means that you’re going to enjoy it for years to come.

Customizable, Aesthetically Pleasing Design

Fiberglass inground pools are incredibly versatile. They come in an assortment of shapes, sizes and styles to suit virtually any backyard space or aesthetic—from simple pool designs with a water feature, stone accents and a single slide to elaborate water parks with built-in seats, multi-level slides and ledges. When you choose a fiberglass pool for your yard, you can create a truly one-of-a-kind design that reflects your unique tastes and style.

Holtsville is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 19,714 at the 2010 census.

The hamlet known today as Holtsville included only a few farmhouses in the late 18th century. In 1843, the Long Island Rail Road opened its Waverly station. Maps from that period label the area as Waverly, and a stagecoach line ran north-south along present day Waverly Avenue. As another post office named Waverly already existed in New York, the name of the hamlet was changed to Holtsville in 1860, in honor of U.S. Postmaster General Joseph Holt. As of 1874, Holtsville consisted of 15 houses, a school, and a general store. The train station retained the name “Waverly” for some time, but was eventually also changed to Holtsville, probably in the 1890s, after farmers complained about their shipments going upstate by mistake. In 1916, the Suffolk County Tuberculosis Sanatorium opened on land that was considered Holtsville at the time, but is now part of the hamlet of Selden. The site later became the location of the main campus of Suffolk County Community College.

The Internal Revenue Service opened a large processing center on a 67-acre (270,000 m2) site in the hamlet in 1972.

The rail era in Holtsville ended in 1998, when a number of LIRR stations closed due to low ridership. Holtsville commuters were advised to use Medford and Ronkonkoma stations; more use Ronkonkoma because, except for a few peak-hour trains terminating in Mineola or Hicksville, boarding at Medford would require transfer to an electric train at Ronkonkoma anyway.
