Why You Should Consider a Fiberglass Inground Pool for Your Glen Cove, NY Backyard
From pool parties with family and friends to cooling off and unwinding after a long day of work, there’s nothing better than a backyard swimming pool. Not only will it provide endless hours of entertainment and relaxation, but a swimming pool can also increase the value of your Nassau County property.
Now might be the perfect time to invest in your Glen Cove, NY inground pool installation. Before you contact a company, decide what kind of pool is best for your needs. If you’re looking for the top benefits and reasons to wow your guests, then consider installing a fiberglass inground pool.
Quick Installation
Fiberglass inground pools are easier to install and less expensive than other types of pools. You’ll be swimming in your backyard in no time with a reputable provider who can have the job done in three to six weeks, on average.
Minimal Maintenance
With a fiberglass pool, you’ll spend less time cleaning and more time playing in your pool. Vinyl liner and gunite pools are two common types of residential pools with lots of maintenance (and frustrations).
Gentler on the Skin
If you’ve ever jumped into a gunite pool and noticed that your feet, knees, hands, and even your elbows are scuffed up when you get out? The rough concrete can do a real number on your skin and can seriously detract from the joy that a pool is supposed to bring. A fiberglass inground pool is much easier on your skin, as it’s completely smooth from top to bottom. If bloody toes and fingers don’t sound appealing, go for the cool new option.
Compatible with Salt Chlorine Generators
Salt chlorine generators have become extremely popular, as these devices are a low-maintenance way to maintain the cleanliness of a pool. The downside, however, is that these generators are hard on concrete and metal, so they aren’t ideal for steel vinyl liner and gunite pools. Fortunately, fiberglass inground pools and salt chlorine generators go hand-in-hand, further reducing the amount of time you’ll need to spend maintaining your Nassau County swimming pool.
Low Cost
Vinyl liner replacement, acid washing, and resurfacing aren’t cheap. When you calculate the cost over the lifespan of your pool, it’s fairly expensive. With a fiberglass in-ground pool, you’ll avoid these costs altogether and have a much more affordable backyard swimming plan – which just means that you’re going to enjoy it for years to come.
Customizable, Aesthetically Pleasing Design
Fiberglass inground pools are incredibly versatile. They come in an assortment of shapes, sizes and styles to suit virtually any backyard space or aesthetic—from simple pool designs with a water feature, stone accents and a single slide to elaborate water parks with built-in seats, multi-level slides and ledges. When you choose a fiberglass pool for your yard, you can create a truly one-of-a-kind design that reflects your unique tastes and style.
Glen Cove is a city in Nassau County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. At the United States 2010 census, the city population was 26,964, and 27,166 at the 2019 American Community Survey.
Succeeding cultures of indigenous peoples had lived in the area for thousands of years. At the time of European contact, bands of the Lenape (Delaware) nation inhabited western Long Island, the areas of New York and New Jersey around the harbor, and along the coast through present-day Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as along the Delaware River. They spoke an Algonquian language. By 1600 the band inhabiting this local area was called the Matinecock after their location.
Glen Cove was used as a port by English migrants from New England and named Moscheto before 1668. On May 24, 1668 Joseph Carpenter of Warwick, Rhode Island purchased about 2,000 acres (8.1 km2) of land to the northwest of the Town of Oyster Bay from the Matinecock. Later in that year, he admitted four residents of Oyster Bay as co-partners in the project: brothers Nathaniel, Daniel, and Robert Coles; and Nicholas Simkins. The five young men named the settlement Musketa Cove Plantation, musketa meaning place of rushes in the Lenape language.
In the 1830s, steamboats started regular service on Long Island Sound between New York City and Musketa Cove, arriving at a point still called The Landing. As Musketa was negatively associated with mosquito, in 1834 residents changed the name to Glen Cove; this was said to be taken from the misheard suggestion of Glencoe, meaning Glencoe, Scotland.
