3 Key Inground Pool Liner Replacement Factors to Consider for Your Great River, NY Backyard Swimming Pool
Your inground pool is the highlight of your Suffolk County home. It helps you beat the summer heat, provides endless hours of entertainment for people of all ages, and it’s a great source of respite and relaxation. Needless to say, your swimming pool is definitely one of the most beloved features of your property; however, in order to ensure that it remains in tip-top condition and continues to be aesthetically pleasing and a source of enjoyment, your backyard swimming pool needs to be properly maintained. If you have a vinyl pool, inground pool liner replacement is an important part of maintenance.
While it doesn’t need to be done often, you’re going to need to invest in inground pool liner replacement services at some point. Regular use, constant exposure to harsh chemicals and the sun’s UV rays, and age are all factors that can weaken and damage a vinyl pool liner. If it’s discolored, stained, torn, cracked, or leaking, or if it’s wrinkled, bumpy, or has slipped out of the coping track, it’s time to contact a Great River, NY inground pool installation professional that offers inground pool liner replacement services.
When it comes to replacing your Suffolk County steel vinyl liner, a reputable Great River, NY inground pool installation specialist will offer several different options to choose from. To ensure the best outcome, here’s a look at three key factors to consider when you’re choosing an inground pool liner replacement.
The Color
When it comes to inground pool liner replacement, there’s a rainbow of colors to choose from. Blue tends to be the most popular, as offers a classic, timeless look. Deep blue will lend a touch of sophistication to your Suffolk County yard, while an aqua blue liner adds a fun, refreshing, tropical vibe. White is another great option for a vinyl pool liner, as it reflects the sky and gives the water a sparkly blue color. For an unexpected, sensual look, a black liner is a fantastic choice.
The Pattern
The pattern is another factor that you’re going to want to consider when you’re selecting a new liner for your Suffolk County backyard swimming pool. The pattern will depend on the color you decide to go with; however, there are numerous choices available that will help blend the color and design of your liner. A reputable Great River, NY inground pool installation specialist will offer a variety of patterns and will assist you with selecting the perfect design.
The Texture
Lastly, the texture of the material is an essential factor that you’re going to want to consider when you’re selecting an inground pool liner replacement. The texture is important, as it will have a direct impact on the way the surface feels underfoot. A flat, smooth texture has an almost silky feeling, which is pleasant; however, it can be a bit slippery. An embossed vinyl pool liner feels slightly bumpy, but it delivers better traction and can improve pool safety.

Great River is a suburban hamlet and CDP in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is situated approximately 50 miles (80 km) east of New York City on the South Shore of Long Island, adjoining the Great South Bay, protected from the Atlantic Ocean by Fire Island.
For centuries, the Algonquin people inhabited Long Island. A sub-division of the Algonquins known as the Secatogue ( Mohegan (L.I.)) tribe occupied all of the area in what is now the town of Islip. Their principal villages were at West Islip (Secatogue), Bay Shore (Penataquit), and Oakdale (Connetquot).
On November 29, 1683, William Nicoll (Nicolls), founder of the Town of Islip and son of New York City Mayor Matthias Nicoll, was awarded the first royal patent to the east end of what is now the Town of Islip. Nicoll purchased land from Sachem (Paramount chief) Winnequaheagh of Connetquot. He named his 50,000-acre (20,000 ha) plantation (an 8-by-10-mile (13 by 16 km) tract of land) “Islip Grange”, in honor of his ancestral home of Islip (UK) in East Northamptonshire, England, from which Matthias emigrated in 1664. Nicoll’s domain extended from East Islip to Bayport and embraced the present-day communities of Sayville, West Sayville, Oakdale, Great River, Islip Terrace, Central Islip, Hauppauge, Holbrook, Bohemia, Brentwood, Holtsville, and a portion of Ronkonkoma. Nicoll paid an annual quit-rent (tax) to Thomas Dongan, 2nd Earl of Limerick and Governor of the Province of New York, of five bushels of good winter wheat or twenty-five (25) shillings payable annually on March 25.
Other early land patentees were Andrew Gibb (Islip hamlet), John Mowbray (Bay Shore, originally Awixa), Stephan Van Cortlandt (Sagtikos Manor), and Thomas Willets (West Islip).
